Governor Mutula Hosts Water CS Over Thwake Dam Construction Impasse As CS Assures Of Return To Work Of All Employees
Following a meeting on Wednesday between Water cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome, Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr and several other local leaders and government officials at Thwake to discuss operations at the sh. 36 Billion Multipurpose dam, Governor Mutula now says he is certain that the issues that had been raised causing impasse in the dam building will be addressed and dam construction resume.
Mutula expressed confidence that if the issue of non payment is addressed within 7 days as assured by the Cabient Secretary, then the project stands to be completed by February next year’s set deadline.
He also asked the main contractor to ensure the locals who had been engaged in building the dam before the work was scaled down return to their stations.
Wahome on her part assured that the state will ensure the delayed funding is remitted to facilitate the ongoing construction, noting that Gezhouba Group Company (CGGC) Limited had already raised a certificate of payment awaiting for funds to be processed.
